This year will be a good one for job-hunters in Canada, according to a new study by Randstad Canada.

This year, for the first time, Randstad Canada has released an Emerging Jobs List and the Most in Demand List.

As our lives become intertwined with technology, new roles and jobs are emerging on the market. Whereas many of the jobs on Randstad’s list focus on IT skills, blockchain and AI (artificial intelligence), companies are tapping into the desire to have more human interaction and employees that are people-oriented.

Organizations are realizing that customers want more than just cutting-edge technology and balancing high-tech solutions with a people-centric approach is the way to go in 2019, according to Randstad.

Randstad Canada, the staffing, recruitment and HR company, says that Canadian tech workers are in the driver’s seat this year.

When it comes to emerging jobs, roles in AI and machine learning take the lead whereas the need for workers who can interact efficiently with people top the most in-demand list.

So, it’s a nice balance.

“Employment levels are at records lows in most regions and steady economic growth means employers are hiring,” says the press release.

“The roles in Randstad Canada’s Emerging Jobs list positively reflect Canada’s leadership in the AI space,” said Carolyn Levy, President, Technology, Randstad Canada. “Within the tech sector, this field is growing exponentially. Competition for talent is intense and at the same time, Canada is seen as an attractive destination for tech talent around the world.”
